No comments posted.

EAU CLAIRE — The Chippewa Valley Family Caregiving Alliance (CVFCA) will host its sixth annual Caregiver Town Hall Meeting on Monday, Nov. 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 501 East Filmore Ave., in Eau Claire.

This year’s theme, “Preparing to Care: Getting Your Ducks in a Row” will highlight local resources for caregivers and will help attendees learn about the continuum of care. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore options as they prepare to care, obtain caregiving resources in the Chippewa Valley and talk with experts and others who are caregiving.

A panel of nine experts in the field of caregiving will include Pat Pope, executive director, Northwest Wisconsin Homecare and Hospice; Tim Davis, community service representative, Home Instead Senior Care; Bethany Jacobson-Flieger, director, Grace Adult Day Services; Shannon Todd, community relations specialist, Our House Assisted Living; Jim Deignan, chief executive officer, Dove Healthcare and Affiliates; Dorothy Moen, director, Aging and Disability Resource Center of Eau Claire County; Sue Brown, benefit specialist, Aging and Disability Resource Center of Eau Claire County; Laura Plummer, rehabilitation technologist and sensory specialist, Stout Vocational Rehabilitation Institute; and Sandy Cunningham, family caregiver and support group member.

On- and off-site respite care will be provided at no charge to caregivers who need someone to stay with their loved ones in order to attend the event.

Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are needed to guarantee a meal. Call the ADRC of Eau Claire County at 1-888-338-4636 or (715) 839-4735 by Thursday, Nov. 6, to RSVP.
