The Boyceville Community School District has hired veteran school administrator and teacher Kevin Sipple as its principal for grades 7-12. He recently served in a similar capacity as a principal in the Shell Lake School District for 2007-2008 and began his tenure at Boyceville on Friday, Aug. 1.

“I am exited and looking forward to becoming part of the Boyceville community,” Sipple said. “Boyceville has a strong reputation for excellence in academics, arts and athletics. ... One of my main goals is to instill integrity into our academic program. That is my number one goal, and I would hope and expect the community to strive for academic excellence.”

Sipple went on to say that he expects to maintain a balance of academics and activities for the students.

“I am a real student-oriented person, and I want our students to leave Boyceville with an excellent experience and well-prepared for their future, so we’ll strive to meet that need,” he said.

Sipple’s approach may be seen in his many years as a K-12 teacher and as a guidance counselor, student services director and principal. He has worked in the Hudson, Glidden, Prescott and Shell Lake districts prior to assuming his duties at Boyceville.

He emphasizes curriculum noting, “I support not only the core areas, but also the vocational areas and then all of the arts, also. I just think that there is a niche for every student, and we have to be very careful that we do not over-focus in any one particular area. But we have to be realistic and know that the benchmarks for state testing are there.”

Currently a resident of River Falls, Sipple looks forward to moving to the Boyceville area. He and his wife, Kathy, have three children — Nathan, Allison and Luke, and one grandson, Logan Sipple.

In his free time, Sipple likes to read, hunt, fish, run and spend time with his family. When asked if he was trained to run in next weekend’s Pickle Fest 10K race, he indicated that he was “benched” for the summer due to an injury. He looks forward to recovering and running again along with duties for the academic year.

" The School District of Boyceville is very lucky to land Kevin Sipple. I had the privilege to work with Kevin for 12 years. Kevin will always put children first.
I feel that Boyceville has landed two excellent administraors the past two years. Chuck Buckel in 2007 and now Mr. Sipple in 2008. The district is in great hands,

Steven Shaw
District Administrator Cedar Grove-Belgium School District. "
