No comments posted.

Tis the season to be jolly — and to get those nomination papers signed.

For many of those seeking to be elected or re-elected to a number of positions throughout the county, now is the time to file the necessary paperwork. The same applies to those who are currently serving, but who do not plan to run for office in the spring election .

Declaration of candidacy forms are currently available from the county, city, township and school district clerks. The deadline to turn in nomination papers is Wednesday, Jan. 2. The deadline for declaration of non-candidacy is Friday, Dec. 21.

The spring election will be held on April 1. If a primary is necessary to narrow the field of candidates, it will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 19, in conjunction with the presidential preference primary.
